SEAN GALLAGHER was born in 1973 on Long Island, in New York. He came late to photography, studying at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. After exhibiting around the city, he took a hiatus to establish himself backstage in the entertainment industry.
Growing up, Sean’s father built countless birdhouses and had dozens hanging in the family’s backyard, as well as in all 50 states in the US and on every continent around the world. He grew up surrounded by birds. When he returned to photography, feathers were perfect for his small shooting space.
He currently resides in Brooklyn and works in lighting for Broadway, television and the movie industry, where he conceives and retouches his photos on some of the most famous stages and sets in the world.
